Sport at Burgmann Anglican School combines co-curricular participation, interschool competition and representative opportunities to support student wellbeing, teamwork and personal growth. Students are encouraged to participate at all levels, from developing fundamental skills through to representing the School in competitive pathways.
The Burgmann Anglican School Sport Program includes a broad range of co-curricular and interschool sporting opportunities across the year. Through team sport, carnivals and representative pathways, students develop teamwork, resilience, confidence and school connection while participating in inclusive and engaging sporting experiences.
The co-curricular sport program provides opportunities for students to participate in seasonal team sports including Basketball, Cricket, Football, Netball, Oztag, Water Polo, Badminton and Mini Team Sports. Programs support students across a range of ages and experience levels, from beginners through to competitive players.
In addition to co-curricular sport, Burgmann participates in interschool competitions and carnivals through ACT School Sport and ASC pathways including Athletics, Cross Country, Swimming, Basketball, Cricket, Oztag, Netball and Football.
What's happening in our Sports Program?
Does Burgmann participate in interschool sport competitions?
Yes. In addition to the co-curricular sport program, Burgmann participates in interschool sport competitions run by ACT School Sport and ASC competitions during school time.
What interschool sports and carnivals are available?
Burgmann participates in Athletics, Cross Country, Swimming, Basketball, Cricket, Oztag, Netball and Football through interschool and representative opportunities.
Do students need previous experience to join?
No. Many programs support students at different levels, including beginners, developing players and more experienced athletes.
Are there opportunities for younger students?
Yes. Mini Team Sports provides opportunities for Kindergarten to Year 2 students to develop fundamental movement skills, teamwork and confidence.
Are there additional costs?
Co-curricular sport activities involve additional fees for registration, uniforms, coaching, venue hire, equipment or competition costs.
