The Burgmann Anglican School co-curricular Program provides opportunities for students to learn, lead, participate and connect beyond the classroom. These experiences encourage students to collaborate, serve, challenge themselves and develop skills that support their growth throughout their school journey.
With activities across sport, performing arts and Ernest programs, students can discover new interests, pursue areas of strength and contribute to the life of the School. From beginners trying something new to experienced students seeking extension and leadership opportunities, co-curricular participation supports intellectual, social, emotional and physical development.

Co-curricular plays an important role in helping students discover who they are and what they enjoy.

Is participation in co-curricular activities compulsory?
Participation is strongly encouraged, as it is an important part of a holistic Burgmann education, however involvement in activities is voluntary.
What types of co-curricular activities are available?
The program is organised into three main areas:
These include activities such as debating, STEM, chess, Duke of Edinburgh, music ensembles, drama, dance, basketball, football, netball and water polo.
How do students register for activities?
Registrations and program information are available through the Burgmann Portal, where families can view available activities, key dates and communications.
Are activities available for all year levels?
Programs are offered across Junior, Middle and Senior School, with activities tailored to different ages, stages and interests.
Do co-curricular activities involve additional costs?
Activities attract participation fees to cover costs such as coaching, equipment, venue hire, competition entry or performances. Fee information is provided during registration.
Are there opportunities for beginners?
Absolutely. Many activities are designed for students of all experience levels, including beginner, intermediate and advanced programs.
Are performances, competitions and events part of the program?
Yes. Many activities involve performances, competitions, showcases, carnivals, tournaments or community events across the year.
Is there support for students with high-level sporting or performing arts commitments?
Yes. Burgmann offers a High Performance Program for eligible students in Years 9 to 12 with significant commitments in areas such as sport, music and dance. The program supports students in balancing their academic studies alongside elite training, rehearsal and competition requirements. Entry is by application and eligibility criteria apply.
