Year 7 Visits Sydney
Year 7 took part in a Sydney based learning experience that combined several curriculum areas into one purposeful day of hands on exploration. At the Opera House, students worked in teams on a geometry focused design challenge that asked them to plan, build and present small scale structures under time pressure. The activity required collaboration, clear communication and the practical use of mathematical concepts.
At the Australian Museum, students explored Relics with its miniature LEGO worlds inside vintage objects, the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year exhibition and the Indigenous water gallery. Each space offered links to science, design, environment and culture, giving students a broader context for the ideas they have been studying. The day provided a strong example of how connected learning can deepen understanding and spark curiosity.
