Six Houses. One Community.
Burgmann’s House system will grow from four Houses to six in 2027, strengthening opportunities for connection, leadership and belonging as our school grows.
Burgmann celebrated a significant moment in its history on Friday 16 October, as students discovered their Houses for 2027 ahead of the expansion from four Houses to six.

Our two new Houses, Dyurra and Mullangari, will join Guraguma, Ngadyung, Gurabung and Dhurrawang from next year. Discover the stories, colours and crests of our six Houses.
Our Houses have long been part of what connects students to Burgmann and to one another. As our school grows, adding two Houses will help strengthen that sense of belonging, creating more opportunities for students to build friendships across year groups, lead and contribute.
A day to celebrate
Across both campuses, a little sorting hat suspense helped set the scene as students learnt their House membership for 2027 and received coloured House wristbands.
House games, sausage sizzles and staff dinosaur races brought students and staff together to celebrate. Year 7 students also led activities for younger students, putting the spirit of connection and contribution into practice.

For students joining Dyurra and Mullangari, the day marked their place as foundation members, with the opportunity to help establish traditions for future generations.
Building our six Houses
Students, staff and families have helped shape the expansion through naming and design competitions, House preference surveys and conversations.
The process has also enriched the identity of every House, developing the stories and symbols that connect our Christian faith, school values and Ngunnawal Country.
Every student will help shape their House through the friendships they build, the ways they contribute and the House spirit they bring. There are new traditions to create and longstanding ones to carry forward, with much to look forward to together in 2027.
