Could It Make The Menu?

Authentic learning is at its best when students can apply their knowledge to real-world challenges.

As part of a Year 7 Health inquiry unit, students were tasked with designing a smoothie for a specific customer, considering nutrition, taste, inclusion, practicality and cost. Working in teams, they refined their concepts and recipes before presenting their final products to a judging panel.

We were delighted to welcome Jeremy and Morgan from Frankies at Forde, who provided valuable industry insight and challenged students to think about their products from a customer and business perspective.

Experiences like this help students connect classroom learning with real-world application while developing skills in critical thinking, collaboration, communication and informed decision-making.

Thank you to the team at Frankies at Forde for supporting this authentic learning experience and helping our students connect health, creativity and business thinking.
