25 years of beginnings
For 25 years, Burgmann Preschool has been the starting point for some of our youngest students and their families.
Since opening at the Valley Campus in 2001, Preschool has helped generations of children take their first steps into school life. From music and library visits to Year 5 buddies and imaginative play, those early experiences were designed to help children feel part of Burgmann from the beginning.
As Burgmann prepares to bring its three and four-year-old Preschool programs together at Forde in 2027, the Winter 2026 edition of The Gribble looks back at the people, memories and philosophy that have shaped Preschool over the past quarter of a century.
The feature brings together reflections from current and former staff, along with Year 12 students who returned to Preschool and revisited where their own Burgmann experience began. Their memories offer a warm reminder that while buildings and programs evolve, the importance of belonging, care and curiosity remains constant.
The move to Forde marks an exciting new chapter for Burgmann Preschool, creating new opportunities for collaboration and continuity while carrying forward the values that have shaped the program since 2001.
