Our Instrumental Music Program offers a fantastic opportunity for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 to explore their musical talents and develop their skills in a wide range of instruments. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced musician, our dedicated team of private music tutors is here to provide professional tuition during school hours.

At Burgmann, we offer lessons in the following instruments:

  • Piano
  • Voice
  • Bass Guitar, Classical Guitar, and Contemporary Guitar (electric or acoustic)
  • Flute and Fife
  • Clarinet
  • Saxophone
  • Percussion (including drum kit)
  • Violin, Viola, and Cello
  • Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba, and French Horn
  • Oboe and Bassoon

In addition to learning an instrument, students have the opportunity to pursue external examinations through various examining bodies, giving them a chance to showcase their progress and receive official recognition for their musical achievements.

For our Kindergarten students, lessons in Voice, Piano, and Violin are available starting from Semester 2, following consultation with their class teacher. Our Music Department carefully considers each child's individual ability, musical background, and readiness to learn before determining their suitability for instrumental lessons.

We are thrilled to offer this enriching musical experience to our students, fostering their creativity, self-expression, and love for music.

JUNIOR SCHOOL MINI MAESTROS PROGRAM

Our Junior School Mini Maestros Program is designed for students in Years 1 - 5, this program offers a unique opportunity to learn a string, woodwind, or brass instrument for the first time. Instruments include violin, viola, cello, fife, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and French horn.

With a focus on cultivating a love for music at an early age, the Mini Maestros Program provides a pathway of learning and playing together. In the first six months, students attend weekly 45-minute small-group lessons (2-5 students). During the next six months, they progress to weekly 30-minute private lessons and ensemble sessions.

This program is an excellent pathway for young students to begin their musical journeys.
