Learning doesn't just happen in the classroom. At Burgmann, students are encouraged to explore the natural environment surrounding the campuses.

Both Valley and Forde campuses have plenty of space for students to move, play and learn. So much of life is sedentary and insular, we encourage our students and staff to get out and about, to interact with others and explore the world. The natural landscape around us makes it easy from the 2km walking track around the Valley campus offering respite and reflection opportunities for senior students and staff to the 100km Canberra Centenary trail which runs past both campuses and into the Mulligan's Flat Nature Reserve.

Students enjoy gardens, green space and places to meet, sit, share food or learn. The community garden at Forde Campus is part of the Ginninderra Award Program and helps students gain a greater appreciation of food production and ethical growing. A connection to the waterways of the greater Gungahlin area is never far away either with Valley Campus playing a role in the water catchment system feeding into the Valley Ponds and helping to improve the Ginninderra Creek Catchment.
