Learning happens best with emotion, challenge and plenty of support. We want our students to discover their abilities, values, passions, and responsibilities in situations that offer adventure and the unexpected.

So much of life today is sedentary and insular. At Burgmann, we ask our community, not just our students, to interact with each other respectfully. We offer a range of programs and activities that require interaction and deliver real experiences. Students are asked to do things that are challenging and we teach them that it doesn't matter how well they do at it, it matters that they do it.

A really important lesson is that they see how being a part of something larger than themselves, how working together and making a contribution, helps to achieve a goal. They understand first hand that it is the connections they build with themselves and others that help to create positive outcomes in life.
