The Christian life sits at the centre of the Burgmann Anglican School community. Our mission to meet individual and common needs by providing an excellent, creative and balanced curriculum, is driven by a Christian framework. Ours is a community built upon relationships seen in care, respect, self-discipline, forgiveness and servanthood. We believe that when the Learning and Teaching programs, the Wellbeing practices and the Christian ethos are woven together, the school community becomes strong and resilient.

Ministry

The School has a special relationship with the ministry of Gungahlin Anglican Church (GAC), with whom we maintain a formal covenant. Together, Burgmann and GAC co-ordinate joint family Church services several times per year, provide opportunities to take part in youth groups, and explore the potential for baptism and confirmation.

As an Anglican school, our approach to ministry is grounded in the gospel of Jesus Christ, which shapes and informs all that we do. Our ministry activities also aim to support the School’s wellbeing programs, which are centred on the Christian Life. Ministry activities typically include:

  • weekly Chapel services;
  • weekly Christian Living classes;
  • regular fellowship groups for a range of ages;
  • opportunities to participate in charity and service activities including the Anglicare Pantry Appeal and Winter Sleepout and the World Vision 40 Hour Famine; and
  • Defence Kids Club for defence family students.
