We provide a quality Out of School Hours Care and Holiday service to give parents ease of mind and flexibility in balancing work and family.

Out of School Hours Care (OSHC)

Burgmann Anglican School Outside School Hours Care (Burgmann OSHC) provides inclusive, safe and flexible educational programs for Kindergarten to Year 6 students on both the Valley and Forde campus.

Burgmann OSHC educators are employed by Burgmann Anglican School and are experienced educators. Our programs embrace the periods of early and middle childhood as unique, special and an important stage of life. We aim to provide a warm, caring and inclusive environment in which all children feel they are welcome, and have a place in the program.

Our programs are approved by the Children’s Education and Care Assurance, under the ACT Education and Training Directorate, to operate and are approved for Child Care Subsidy by the Department of Education.

Children are supported to participate in play-based experiences that build on individual strengths, develop resilience, and foster respectful relationships with peers and educators. They are given opportunities to build on their identities and explore their interests in a safe learning environment.

Burgmann OSHC aims to:

  • Encourage students to respect and embrace diversity within the school and wider community
  • Provide transparency through active and open communication with families
  • Promote health and wellbeing by modelling an active lifestyle and educating students about the importance of making healthy choices
  • Assist students to embrace their differences to build self-esteem, independence and a strong sense of belonging
  • Recognise connectedness of children's physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing as well as cognitive aspects of learning
  • Create an environment supportive of children’s development of creativity, cooperation, risk-taking, curiosity and confidence
