Our Year 3 students had a big day out last week, exploring two of Canberra’s most iconic cultural institutions.

At the National Museum of Australia, they learned about key people, places and events that have helped shape our nation’s story. Then it was over to the National Gallery of Australia, where they examined the textures, techniques and storytelling in modern Australian art, with a focus on First Nations works.

The day sparked rich discussions and new ideas as students begin their HASS unit on Australian history and prepare to create their own collaborative artworks back in the classroom.
