Last week our Year 10 students took part in City Express, a long standing Burgmann tradition that builds confidence, teamwork and independence. Most of the cohort travelled to Sydney with a smaller group completing the program in Canberra, each working through a series of challenges designed to develop problem solving, initiative and collaboration.

In Sydney, students navigated the city through clue chases, team activities and water based experiences. They also contributed to Cook for Good and One Big Kitchen, preparing meals for people experiencing homelessness and food scarcity. These practical experiences helped students connect their learning with genuine community need.

Our Canberra based group followed the same learning framework in a local context, focusing on navigation, planning and teamwork.

City Express remains a milestone experience for our students. It offers purposeful challenge, shared responsibility and a growing sense of independence that supports their transition into the senior years.

City Express continues to be a highlight of Year 10, offering purposeful challenge and shared moments that stay with students well into their senior years.
