"Small potential is the limited success we can achieve alone. Big potential is the success we can achieve working with others."
This was the key message behind our Year 6 and 7 Unleashing Personal Potential workshop this week.
The workshop focused on the power of social connection. Students explored how empathy, teamwork and active listening can shape a more inclusive and supportive environment. Through fast-paced activities like team river crossings, charades and freeze scenes, students were encouraged to step outside their close friendship groups and connect with others across the year level.
They practised being active and constructive listeners, using body language, eye contact and thoughtful questions to show genuine care and engagement. A highlight was seeing students recognise each other’s efforts with spontaneous shout outs at the end of the day.
This experience is part of our broader commitment to building student leadership, belonging and wellbeing.
