At Burgmann Anglican School, we believe the transition from childhood to young adulthood deserves to be recognised and supported with care.
That’s why our Year 9 students participate in The Rite Journey, a year-long program designed to guide and equip them during this formative time. Through reflection, challenge and mentoring, students are encouraged to grow in self-awareness, contribute with intention, and learn more about who they are becoming.
Earlier this term, students entered the stage known as The Following.
Having symbolically let go of childhood in Term 1, this next step invites them to take greater responsibility and begin shaping the kind of adults they want to be. It also marks their first opportunity to connect with a mentor. A trusted adult who will walk alongside them throughout the year, offering guidance, perspective and encouragement.
It’s a powerful moment in a larger journey, and a reminder that learning doesn't only happen in classrooms. Growth, contribution and connection are just as vital as academic success, and we are proud to foster all of them.
