Mulligans Flat Woodland Sanctuary continues to be an invaluable learning space for our students.
Recently, our Year 7 EcoExplorers engaged in hands-on ecology experiences, building field study skills while exploring biodiversity, habitats and population dynamics. This excursion also deepened their appreciation of nature and First Nations culture, and connected directly to their current Science assessment.
Our Year 11 Biology students then visited Mulligans Flat to collect data for their Semester 2 assessment, measuring both biotic and abiotic factors such as soil pH, moisture, temperature, species identification, transects and quadrats.
The learning continues this week when our Year 11 and 12 Earth and Environmental Science students participate in a guided twilight tour at Wildbark , applying their classroom knowledge to real-world issues including habitat destruction, pest introduction and ecosystem sustainability.
It’s a unique way for students to bring their science learning to life.
