The Junior School Drama Club recently presented its inaugural performance, The Day the Internet Died, to a full audience in the Performing Arts building.

Open to students from Kindergarten to Year 5, the program was established to provide a dedicated space for dramatic performance within the Junior School, allowing students to apply and extend the skills developed through classroom drama experiences.

The response from students has been outstanding, with more than 80 students participating in the program’s first intake. Through rehearsals, collaborative workshops and live performance opportunities, students have developed confidence, communication skills and a strong sense of connection with their peers.

The production itself featured a series of short scenes performed by different student groups, creating opportunities for every student to take to the stage and contribute meaningfully to the performance.

Programs such as these play an important role in supporting student wellbeing, creativity and belonging, while also helping students build confidence in authentic and purposeful ways.

Thank you to Junior School staff Janice McDevitt and Lucy Wade for their leadership, enthusiasm and commitment in establishing the program.
