This week, our Junior School students enjoyed Flight, Fire and Sound – Science with an Indigenous Perspective, a dynamic science show presented by Jollybops Science.
Through hands-on demonstrations, music and storytelling, students explored the science behind flight, fire and sound, and discovered how these principles connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge systems. From the returning boomerang to the Yidaki and cultural fire practices, the show highlighted innovation, sustainability and the legacy of leaders like David Unaipon.
A student-led Aboriginal instrumental performance was the perfect way to round out this vibrant and educational experience.
