Burgmann students from Year 5 to Year 10 recently represented the School at the Da Vinci Decathlon, a rigorous academic competition designed to challenge high-level thinking, creativity and collaboration.
Hosted at Canberra Grammar School, the Decathlon requires students to apply knowledge across disciplines in time-pressured, problem-solving contexts. Students are asked to think quickly, work as a team and respond to unfamiliar challenges.
In her second year leading the program, Gifted and Talented Coordinator Belinda Cox has continued to grow Burgmann’s involvement across Junior and Middle School. In 2026, this growth extended into Years 9 and 10, with additional coaching support from Principal Leonie Harwood.

Our Middle School teams achieved strong results, with Year 7 placing third and Year 8 placing first, progressing to the State Final at Knox Grammar School.
Experiences like the Da Vinci Decathlon are an important part of extending students who are ready for additional academic challenge.
