Last Friday, Burgmann Anglican School marked ANZAC Day with services held across Junior, Middle and Senior School, providing students with the opportunity to reflect on service, sacrifice and national history.
Each service was supported by guest presenters with Defence experience. Wing Commander Liz Frederickson spoke with Senior School students, Squadron Leader Susan Lambert with Middle School, and Commander Shane Suckling with Junior School.
The services also included contributions from within the School community. A Burgmann cadet catafalque party featured in Senior School, while Middle School staff member Amy Coad performed the Last Post and the Rouse.
A shared theme of Women in War connected the services, broadening students’ understanding of the diverse experiences of those who have served.
