This week across Burgmann, students will honour ANZAC Day through reflection, stories and hands-on learning.

Assemblies in our Junior, Middle and Senior Schools, thoughtfully coordinated by our Defence School Mentor, Dee Farren-Price, gave students space to listen, reflect and connect with the meaning of service and sacrifice. Guest speakers across our campuses shared powerful stories that brought the ANZAC spirit to life.

In the Junior School library, students explored a fascinating display of wartime artefacts — including items from our own Maria Schiavello, who served in the RAAF and was deployed during Operation Slipper. Thanks to Janet Galloway’s inspiring curation, students were able to experience history in a tangible and memorably way.

From artefacts to stories, our ANZAC commemorations this week have been a moving reminder that the spirit of service and sacrifice is alive within our school community.

Lest we forget.
