Give your child a head start

At Burgmann Anglican School, our Early Learning Centre is the beginning of a carefully designed learning journey. Located on our Valley Campus, the ELC provides a nurturing, purpose-built environment where children are known, valued, and supported as capable and curious learners.

Informed by a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach and underpinned by Christian values, our programs foster inquiry, creativity, and collaboration through play-based learning. Children from 6 months to 2 years of age are immersed in rich indoor and outdoor environments designed to spark wonder, build confidence, and encourage exploration.

To partner with families in raising a generation of children who are strong, capable and resilient people, rich with wonder and knowledge.

Our mission is to provide a supportive educational environment that challenges, inspires and empowers each child and young person to achieve their potential, within a Christian framework.

Our Early Learning Centre philosophy impacts on our core values which aim to:

  • provide learning environments which respond to, and maximise, children’s voices, agency, development, needs, diversity and culture;
  • support children in creating ownership of their learning and develop curiosity;
  • assist children to connect with their world and their place within it, through both intentional and spontaneous experiences;
  • foster an atmosphere of innovation, risk-taking, creativity and inquiry through the use of natural resources and sustainable practices;
  • model Christian behaviours of perseverance, temperance, care, respect, acceptance and forgiveness;
  • develop a sense of community and belonging to each other;
  • provide inclusive learning environments through the use of flexible, age appropriate resources and spaces, supporting and promoting a range of capabilities; and
  • encourage families, as children’s first educators, to form a partnership with the Early Learning Centre.

We seek to provide a place where children will be cared for and educated, in an environment built upon the Christian values of Burgmann Anglican School.

We want to provide staff with a place to work that values a culture of reflective practice and development as professionals, collaborating to support children’s learning and development.

Burgmann Anglican School ELC aims to provide exceptional service in both staffing and resourcing. Our fees for the coming year are set at the beginning of Term 4 in the preceding year to give parents plenty of time for planning. We reserve the right to make changes throughout the year if required.

What enrolment pattern is recommended?

A minimum of two days per week, preferably consecutive, is recommended to support continuity, routine and strong relationships.

Do I need to submit separate applications for the ELC and the School?

No. Burgmann uses one registration process for both the Early Learning Centre and the School.

When you submit a Application Form, your child is placed on the waiting list for your selected entry points, whether that is the ELC, Preschool or the School.

This means:

  • you do not need to submit a second application later
  • your original registration carries through as your child grows

If your child attends the ELC, their registration will remain for future enrolment into Preschool.

If your child does not receive and offer for the ELC, their place on the waiting list for the School remains active based on the original registration date.
