Beyond The Classroom
At Burgmann, we offer two distinct troupes within our dance program: Dance Troupe for Years 7-9 and Performance Troupe for Years 10-12.
Dance Troupe and Performance Troupe provide students with valuable opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of dance. These troupes participate in the ACT Youth Dance Festival, a professional theatre event organised by Ausdance ACT. The festival serves as a platform for students to showcase their talents and express themselves through dance.
By participating in Dance Troupe or Performance Troupe, students build self-esteem, develop teamwork skills, and gain valuable performance experience. They have the chance to choreograph their own routines, embracing their creativity and individuality.
In addition to the Youth Dance Festival, our troupes also have opportunities to perform at various school events throughout the year. These performances allow students to further develop their skills and contribute to the growing dance community at Burgmann.
