ANZAC Day and Dr Justin Coulson Parent Presentation

Welcome Back
I was delighted to see our students return after the holiday break looking refreshed and ready for another busy term. I hope families enjoyed some special time together over Easter as well as reflecting on the Christian message of this important occasion.

ANZAC Day Services
I was honoured to attend the ANZAC Dawn Service on Tuesday with Middle and Senior School student leaders, students whose parents are serving in the Australian Defence Force, and their families. That so many in our school community are active service men and women makes this service especially important.

I would like to acknowledge the work of Burgmann's Defence Transition Aide and Mentor, Mrs Brooke James, for her commitment and organisation of ANZAC Services for Middle and Senior School students on Wednesday and for Junior School students on Thursday.

It is important that our students understand and acknowledge the sacrifices that were made, and indeed continue to be made, by our Defence Forces. I am particularly grateful to Lieutenant Colonel Iain Addinell for his address at the Middle and Senior School Service encouraging our students to embrace the ANZAC spirit.

Lest we forget.

Parent Prestentation
Dr Justin Coulson, renowned across Australia for his expertise in parenting and for his practical, relevant presentations, is returning to Burgmann to speak on "The Opportunities and Perils of Social Media."

All parents and carers of students in Year 8 and Year 9 have been personally invited to attend this presentation, however, all interested Middle School and Senior School parents and carers are welcome to attend.

Please reserve your complimentary seat for this event through Trybooking.
