As many of you may be aware, September is International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a global initiative raising awareness for childhood cancer. Many families have been touched in some way by this devastating illness and our community continues to show compassion and offer support to those in need.
This week Senator Zed Seselja launched a rainbow bus at Parliament House, an initiative from Dainere’s Rainbow Brain Tumour Research Fund and Go Gold to promote awareness of paediatric brain tumours. Dainere Anthoney tragically passed away in 2013 after an extended battle with cancer and her legacy for raising awareness and funds for research for a cure continues.
I look forward to seeing the bus around Canberra over the coming months.
My thoughts and prayers continue for those families in our community who have been touched by or are experiencing significant health issues. Please do not hesitate to contact the school so that we, as a community, can offer our support.
