I am very grateful to families who contribute to the School Building Fund. This is a tax effective way of assisting the school, and funds have helped support additional resources such as the Early Childhood/Junior School Common upgrade, the modular building in Senior School, updating classroom areas and providing less observable improvements such as IT upgrades and servicing existing capital loans.
As we draw close to the end of the financial year, families may be considering tax effective strategies and I encourage, those that are able, to contribute to the school building fund. This is especially important at this time as the school continues to speak with the Government, Opposition, other politicians and the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training about commonwealth recurrent funding for 2018 and the following 9 years. It is hoped Building Fund contributions will strengthen the school’s financial position which will assist in keeping school fee increases to a minimum.
Donations to the Building Fund are tax deductable under Division 30 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.
