Year 12 Students Complete AST

After two days of focus and determination, Burgmann’s Year 12 Tertiary students have completed the ACT Scaling Test.

AST represents a significant milestone in the final year of secondary school. In the lead-up to the tests, students worked closely with key Senior School staff to consolidate their preparation, refine their approach and build confidence for the two days ahead.

Alongside that focused preparation, staff also found a characteristically Burgmann way to help students manage the final moments before entering the examination hall.

Music and movement brought energy and a few laughs to the start of each day, helping students release some tension, connect with one another and shift their attention from nerves to the work they were ready to do.

Before the final session, students gathered for the traditional Year 12 group photo and received some last-minute encouragement from the Principal Leonie Harwood, Director of Studies Rod Crnkovic and Deputy Principal, Student Engagement Cath Amesbury. Rod brought his extensive knowledge of AST and the ACT senior secondary system, while Cath helped students reset and approach the session with confidence.

The combination of careful preparation, expert guidance and some light-hearted encouragement helped students enter the hall ready to draw on the work they had already completed.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Tertiary students on reaching this important milestone. With AST behind them, their focus now turns to a strong finish for all our Year 12s.
