Outdoor Education Hits the Slopes

Sep 5, 2025 11:00 AM

As part of their Alpine Innovation Study, our Year 11 and 12 Outdoor Education students spent two days at Jindabyne and Thredbo Snow Resort, exploring firsthand how innovation has shaped the alpine environment.

The excursion combined theory with lived experience. Students examined snowmaking technology, the evolution of ski equipment and the infrastructure that supports accessibility and sustainability in the ski industry. A visit to the Thredbo Ski Museum added historical context to their learning.

Alongside this, students developed practical skills and confidence through ski lessons with Thredbo’s Snow Sports School, supporting their personal development and physical literacy in a high-altitude environment.
