Congratulations Madilyn Janssen
We are incredibly proud of Year 12 student, Madilyn Janssen, who has been awarded the Australian Sports Medal, a prestigious honour endorsed by the Govenor-General in recognition of her outstanding achievements in basketball.
The award was presented to Madilyn over the weekend during the half-time break at the UC Capitals game, making the moment even more special.
Madilyn’s dedication to the sport has seen her represent Australia as member of the Australian Pearls, competing at the 2023 Virtus Global Games in Paris and the 2022 Virtus Oceania Asia Games in Brisbane. Building on her experience at the Ivor Burge Championships in January, Madilyn has been selected to attend a training camp in March as she aims for selection to the National Team set to compete in the 2025 Virtus World Basketball Championships in Kazakhstan.
This award is a testament to Madilyn’s dedication, perseverance, and passion for the sport. Congratulations, Madi – we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish next!
