Common Ground Project
At Burgmann Anglican School, we are committed to fostering resilience, emotional intelligence and meaningful conversations about identity. Last week, our Year 10 & 11 students, staff and parents engaged in transformative workshops with Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman, challenging traditional gender stereotypes and encouraging authenticity.
Deputy Principal Student Engagement, Cath Amesbury, reflected on the impact:
"These sessions challenge traditional stereotypes and encourage students to embrace authenticity and emotional intelligence. Through open discussions and interactive activities, students develop the confidence to express themselves and contribute positively to their peers and society."
Importantly, these conversations weren’t limited to students. Our staff also took part in a workshop, equipping them with the tools to continue fostering these discussions in our school community.
As part of the Common Ground Project, this initiative ensures a whole-community approach to personal growth, resilience, and social awareness. We are grateful to Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman for their expertise and to our parents who participated in the Parent Education Series.
