Visual Arts

Position:  Middle School Visual Arts Teacher

 

Tenure:  Contract  (0.3 FTE)

Status:   part time

Line management:   This position will be responsible to the Head of Middle School 

 

Duties

More specifically the Visual Arts Teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver a Visual Arts curriculum to Year 5 and Middle School School students allowing for different learning styles and academic needs
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Middle School Team
  • Participate in curriculum development
  • Participate in professional development activities
  • Liaise with students and parents
  • Participate in the school’s co-curricular program
  • Other duties as directed

     

    Selection Criteria

    Essential

    Applicants must:

    • possess a relevant  degree as well as a Diploma of Teaching or Education  
    • be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interactions and collaborative working relationships with Middle School staff and other staff across the school;
    • possess exceptional teaching skills and a firm understanding of differentiation and student needs;
    • have the ability to work collaboratively with the Middle School Team;
    • a passion for effective teaching and learning and for the subject of Visual Arts;
    • an interest in working with adolescents;

    Desirable

    Applicants should have:

    • expertise or interest in the emotional, social and physical development of adolescents;
    • experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum;
    • experience in teaching students with special learning needs;
    • an area of interest that would contribute to the school’s cocurricular program.

    Salary, Terms and Conditions

    The successful applicant will be employed under the " Teachers' Agreement 2006-2010 for The Burgmann Anglican School".
