Visual Arts
Position: Middle School Visual Arts Teacher
Tenure: Contract (0.3 FTE)
Status: part time
Line management: This position will be responsible to the Head of Middle School
Duties
More specifically the Visual Arts Teacher will:
Plan and deliver a Visual Arts curriculum to Year 5 and Middle School School students allowing for different learning styles and academic needs
Work collaboratively with other members of the Middle School Team
Participate in curriculum development
Participate in professional development activities
Liaise with students and parents
Participate in the school’s co-curricular program
Other duties as directed
Selection Criteria
Essential
Applicants must:
- possess a relevant degree as well as a Diploma of Teaching or Education
- be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interactions and collaborative working relationships with Middle School staff and other staff across the school;
- possess exceptional teaching skills and a firm understanding of differentiation and student needs;
- have the ability to work collaboratively with the Middle School Team;
- a passion for effective teaching and learning and for the subject of Visual Arts;
- an interest in working with adolescents;
Desirable
Applicants should have:
- expertise or interest in the emotional, social and physical development of adolescents;
- experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum;
- experience in teaching students with special learning needs;
- an area of interest that would contribute to the school’s cocurricular program.
Salary, Terms and Conditions
The successful applicant will be employed under the " Teachers' Agreement 2006-2010 for The Burgmann Anglican School".
