Junior School Teacher
POSITION: Junior School Teacher
Status: Full time (permanent and contract positions)
Faculty: Early Childhood and Junior School
Line management: This position will be responsible to the Head of Early Childhood and Junior School
Duties (Teaching):
- cooperatively plan and deliver with the other year level teacher a program of learning;
- take responsibility for the pastoral and academic needs of a class of students;
- work with the Enrichment teacher to develop differentiated class program which addresses students’ learning styles and varied academic needs;
- participate in curriculum development and professional development across the learning areas;
- interact professionally with parents to provide formal and informal feedback on their child's progress at school;
- participate in the school’s co-curricular program;
- Other duties as directed.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
Applicants must have:
- a relevant degree in teaching;
- a passion for effective teaching and learning;
- a passion for young children and their learning;
- high emotional intelligence;
- an understanding and support of a Christian based education in an Anglican context.
Desirable
Applicants should have:
- experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum;
- experience in planning using the Bloom’s/Gardner’s matrix;
- experience in outcomes-based planning and assessment;
- experience with THRASS spelling system;
SALARY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The successful applicant will be employed under the "Teachers' Agreement 2006-2010 for The Burgmann Anglican School". Salary will be determined according to qualifications and years of experience.
A notebook computer is provided.
