Junior School Teacher

POSITION: Junior School Teacher   

 

Status:   Full time (permanent and contract positions)

Faculty:  Early Childhood and Junior School

Line management:   This position will be responsible to the Head of Early Childhood and Junior School

Duties (Teaching): 

  • cooperatively plan and deliver with the other year level teacher a program of learning;
  • take responsibility for the pastoral and academic needs of a class of students;
  • work with the Enrichment teacher to develop differentiated class program which addresses students’ learning styles and varied academic needs;
  • participate in curriculum development and professional development across the learning areas;
  • interact professionally with parents to provide formal and informal feedback on their child's progress at school;
  • participate in the school’s co-curricular program;
  • Other duties as directed.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

Applicants must have:

  • a relevant degree in teaching;
  • a passion for effective teaching and learning;
  • a passion for young children and their learning;
  • high emotional intelligence;
  • an understanding and support of a Christian based education in an Anglican context.

Desirable

Applicants should have:

  • experience in the meaningful integration of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) into the curriculum;
  • experience in planning using the Bloom’s/Gardner’s matrix;
  • experience in outcomes-based planning and assessment;
  • experience with THRASS spelling system;

SALARY, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

The successful applicant will be employed under the "Teachers' Agreement 2006-2010 for The Burgmann Anglican School". Salary will be determined according to qualifications and years of experience.

A notebook computer is provided.
