Corrective Discipline

These are the typical sequence of consequences employed by each sub-school.  Depending on circumstances (e.g. the age of the student involved), they can be used in any sequence (see each sub-school’s behavioural management procedures).

  • Rule reminder
  • Verbal apology
  • Written apology
  • Negotiate, work it out using problem-solving steps which are consistent and common throughout the school:

                   We will check with ...... to see if our plan is working.

  • Withdrawal, loss of privileges
  • Detention
  • Other staff involved, such as the school counsellor or Chaplain, in supportive action or the development of an individual behavioural management plan
  • Head of School/Principal involved

                  Behaviour agreement

                 Write an explanation of behaviour

                 Explanation signed by parents - a more serious consequence where it would seem constructive that parents know about the child's behaviour

                 Interview with parents

                 Suspension

                 Expulsion
