Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is an integral part of the life at Burgmann Anglican School. The school's mission is to educate the whole child which includes their emotional as well as their intellectual states.
Each member of staff aims to get to know each child in their care. This is achieved by forming a relationship with each family that is built upon openness and honesty. It is imperative that the parents, who are the first educators of their children, inform the staff of their child's needs, feelings and circumstances. With this information teachers can ensure that the child's emotional needs are met.
The school has three Chaplains, the Head of Ministry, Mark Beresford, the Chaplain/Pastoral Care, Mr Rhys Thorpe and Chaplain Tracey Jacob. The school also has a qualified counsellor, Linda James.
The school also has a pastoral care network that is overseen by the Chaplaincy team. The aim of this network is to provide pastoral care for families in need. The pastoral care team meets regularly to encourage each other and to ensure that the communication network is functioning.
