Assessments

Students' progress is assessed on a weekly basis by their tutor during their lesson time. Records of this are kept in the student's Practice Diary.

Once the student reaches an appropriate level, they will be required to sit either an external examination or an internal assessment (conducted by their tutor and/or the Music Coordinator). The purpose of this assessment is to provide the student with a goal to work towards and to test their technical ability, sightreading skills, aural skills, general musical knowledge and ability to prepare and perform set works.

Examinations will be arranged at the discretion of the tutor.
