Leadership

How often do we pause from our busy lives and reflect on all that has been and what is to come? We are so consumed by the ‘rat race’ that a moment for reflection is a rarity. What gain is it if we spend our whole lives focused on winning the rat race for at the end, we will still be a rat. What is it that we value; what is it that motivates us?

During second term I (Paul Browning - the school's Principal) spent time in New Zealand looking at leadership programs for Years 11 and 12 students. As an Anglican School we believe in servant leadership, but what is meant by that term and how do we train servant leaders ready to take their place in the community?

The area of leadership is a huge one, the concept and my ponderings could easily fill an entire book but there are already countless good books dedicated solely to the notion of leadership.

The following link will take you to the first chapter of the work completed during second term - What is a Servant Leader?
