Indonesian Sister School
Burgmann Anglican School has a sister school in Indonesia called Hidup Baru. Earlier in the year Burgmann purchased Hidup Baru's very first computer which was presented to the school by Mark and Donna Holland and his children Rachel and Emma (the Holland family were living in Indonesia at the time). The intention is for the children of both our schools to communicate via email as Hidup Baru becomes more competent with technology.
Below is a copy of the first email received from the school. Attached to the letter was a history of the school written in Indonesian. Burgmann's Indonesian teacher translated the letter.
Peace
Through this letter I wish to apologise that I have taken so long to contact you (Mr. Paul Browning) - We are truly grateful for God's blessings through you for the gift of the computer Thanks to this computer we can accomplish much of our work very well. We also feel that this world is so small that we can communicate with you and Burgmann Anglican School (BAS) via the Internet.
Dear Mr Paul Browning
I also am writing a brief history about the New Life Christian School. I am deliberately writing this to you in Indonesian because we know that the Indonesian language is the second language in BAS.
We hope that BAS and The New Life Christian School can have direct contact at a time we both agree to arrange an appropriate time.
This second letter then is written to establish even more friendly relations between BAS and the New Life Christian School. We await your reply.
May God bless you.
